Gerri Herbst

I started paper crafting by making cards a
number of years ago and now send out about
200 unique cards or collages each year to
friends and family. My family has always been
creating things, we  had to move the
"projects" off the kitchen table each day so
we could eat!  LOL. Experimenting by
learning and trying new techniques is an
important part of the fun I experience while
creating.

I have been published in Stampers Sampler
and Take Ten magazines. I started
blogging about two years ago and its been an
amazing journey. I have been honored to be
on several different design teams. Currently,
I am also on: Retro Cafe Art andUnruly
Paper Arts.   I also enjoy reading any kind of
book,
photographing pretty things, listening to all
kinds of crazy music, water color painting,
making jewelry and  searching thru flea
markets for vintage finds.

My style is definitely vintage inspired. In my
pieces, you will see lots of sparkly bits,
glitter, shiny paper, vintage images and word
snippets. Embellishments rule!  I believe
vintage images hold a special story and it’s
up to us to listen closely, so we can bring
them to life

Bingo Girl Card

Layering green marbleized paper with a
bingo card was the first step in this
collage. The little pixie from the pixie child
2 sheet was layered next. A dimensional
green flower, some tiny mushrooms and a
tiny lady bug were the accents. Some
dimensional pearls, Stickles and water
color paints add highlights to this fun piece
Its All About Me

I used Gecko Galz Artful Ladies
collage set.
On some crinkled orange paper wash
with paints both flat and metallic.
Wrap a sequined brown ribbon down
the center. Layer the striking female
image from Artful Ladies collage
sheet, that was painted with sparkle
nail polish. Accent the corners with
paper flowers edged with gold
Stickles, a paper leaf with Stickles and
metallic butterfly stickers. The
sentiment came last and says "Its all
about me!"
Follow Your Heart Card

The pixie children sheet was my
inspiration . The funky pixie just
matched up with the time flies 2 sheet
distresses clock. I layered them on
some distressed Tim holtz paper that
was trimmed with red German  scrap.
The clock got a pointer arrow and
some red Stickles accents. A tiny
heart and the sentiment completed
the piece saying "follow your heart
